210,000 Evacuated in Flood Rescue; No Casualties Reported: NDMA Chairman

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik Wednesda, Aug 27, 2025, said that nearly 210,000 people have been safely evacuated from flood-affected regions.

Speaking to the media, Lt Gen Malik said the large-scale rescue efforts were carried out in close coordination with the Pakistan Army, Rangers, Rescue 1122, Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs), and other agencies.

According to an official statement from the provincial government, floods have impacted 601,126 people across 769 villages in Punjab. Rescue and relief efforts are ongoing throughout the province.

So far, 263 relief camps and 161 medical camps have been set up to provide food and temporary shelter to those affected. Relief supplies, including food and drinking water, are being distributed in Sambrial, Sialkot, and Pasrur, while evacuation operations continue in Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Palkhu Nullah, and other flood-affected areas.

The statement also noted that the Pakistan Army, district administrations, and other agencies are actively involved in the response efforts.
