The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government aims to plant and distribute over 5.7 million seedlings during the upcoming monsoon as part of its “Green Growth Strategy – Billion Tree Plus Plantation Drive.”
This initiative involves collaboration with educational institutions, village development committees and others.
The campaign, under the slogan “Har Bashar- Ek Shajar” (Every Person, One Tree), will be promoted through various media channels to encourage widespread participation and environmental conservation.
The decision was made in a meeting regarding the monsoon tree plantation season 2024, on July 19 in Peshawar.
KP Chief Secretary Muhammad Abid Majeed chaired the meeting, while Secretary Climate Change, Forestry Environment & Wildlife Department Shahid Zaman, senior officials of the Forest Department, and representatives of all the departments concerned were also in attendance at the meeting.
