The Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) recently hosted a significant climate action event aimed at promoting sustainable solutions and raising awareness about the impacts of climate change.
This event, held on January 25, 2025, was organized in collaboration with Extreme Hangout Dubai, Earth Warriors, and the Pakistan Youth Forum, attracting climate advocates and members of the Pakistani community in the UAE.
The event commenced with a tree-planting ceremony led by Hussain Muhammad, Pakistan’s Consul General in Dubai, emphasizing the importance of environmental stewardship.
Various experts, activists, and youth leaders participated in discussions focused on climate action strategies. They highlighted the necessity of collective efforts to combat climate change and its disproportionate impact on vulnerable countries like Pakistan.
The event featured entrepreneurial stalls that displayed innovative and sustainable solutions aimed at addressing environmental challenges.
Performances underscored the beauty of nature and the urgent need for preservation efforts for future generations.
During his remarks, Consul General Muhammad stressed Pakistan’s commitment to being part of the global solution to climate issues. He pointed out that despite contributing less than 1% to global greenhouse gas emissions, Pakistan ranks among the ten most vulnerable countries to climate change. He called for global solidarity, climate finance, and technology transfer as essential components in tackling this crisis.
The event concluded with a strong message urging the Pakistani community in the UAE to act as ambassadors for their country’s climate challenges through storytelling and social media engagement to foster awareness and drive change.
