Anti-Smog Guns Slash Lahore’s Kahna Air Pollution by 70%, AQI

The deployment of Punjab’s first anti-smog guns in Lahore’s Kahna area has successfully reduced air pollution levels by an impressive 70%, cutting the Air Quality Index (AQI) from a dangerously high 666 to a much healthier 170.

This improvement was reported by Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and confirmed through scientific analysis by advanced environmental monitoring systems.

The operation involved mobile anti-smog guns mounted on large tankers spraying a fine mist up to 100 meters into the air.

The microscopic water droplets trap dust and harmful particles, pulling them to the ground, which significantly improves air quality.

This historic trial is the first of its kind in Punjab and represents a major step in combating Lahore’s notoriously severe smog problem, particularly during the winter months when pollution spikes due to crop burning, vehicle emissions, and industrial activity.

The success has prompted plans to deploy similar anti-smog gun operations across other urban areas in the province to safeguard public health, reduce respiratory and cardiovascular diseases linked to pollution, and improve residents’ quality of life.

This innovative technology offers effective short-term relief in Lahore’s notorious smog problem, especially during winter months when pollution spikes due to crop burning and industrial emissions.
