CM Sindh Announces Natural Calamity Assistance and Other Initiatives for Minority Welfare

KARACHI: As part of a comprehensive welfare package, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has allocated Rs1 billion to support minority communities, including Rs20 million for natural calamity assistance. This funding aims to provide vital aid to those affected by natural disasters. Additionally, the allocation covers financial assistance (Rs150 million), medical treatment (Rs120 million), scholarships (Rs50 million), marriage assistance (Rs50 million), and Yatra assistance (Rs30 million).

The Chief Minister has instructed the Minorities Affairs department to expedite the distribution of funds and complete ongoing projects, including repairs and renovations to religious and community facilities.

Furthermore, two hostels for underprivileged girls from minority communities will be established, with an initial allocation of Rs20 million for 2024-25, increased to Rs600 million for completion. This multifaceted approach demonstrates the Sindh government’s commitment to enhancing the well-being and resilience of minority communities.
