EPA conducts comprehensive air, and water sampling and monitoring exercise

ISLAMABAD, Jul 15: The Environmental Monitoring Team of the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) has recently conducted a thorough sampling and monitoring exercise to evaluate the air and surface water quality in the residential and industrial zones of the federal capital.

This initiative aimed to protect public health and the environment while identifying potential pollution sources.

For air quality monitoring, a high-volume air sampler was installed in Margalla Town Phase-II, a residential area. Surface water samples were collected from three critical locations: the Rawal Dam outlet and Nullahs at I-9. The Pak-EPA shared these updates on its Facebook handle, highlighting the agency’s ongoing activities.

The collected samples will be analyzed for various parameters, including physical, chemical, and biological characteristics. This effort underscores Pak-EPA’s commitment to regular environmental monitoring and its readiness to take swift action against any environmental violations or threats.
