Heat Stroke Claims 51 Lives in Karachi Since June

During the last two days, 2 deaths from heat stroke were reported in Karachi, the Sindh Health Department said in a statement on Thursday, July 18.

With the two fatalities reported at Civil Hospital, the number of casualties that occurred due to heat stroke from June till now in Karachi has reached 51, the health department added.

Among the two casualties, 54-year-old Fazal Rahman was a resident of the Jahangir Road area.

The second person who died of heat stroke has been identified as Ramesh.

Meanwhile, 49 cases of heat stroke were reported in government hospitals a day earlier.

Karachi is currently grappling with a severe heatwave with hot and humid weather persisted for the past couple of days.
