The first Disaster Response Committee Meeting was held in Islamabad on July 8.
Federal Minister of Planning Development & Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal chaired the meeting along with the Coordinator to PM on Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam at the National Emergency Operation Center, NDMA Headquarters Islamabad.
Chairman NDMA, Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik HI (M) briefed the chair and participants about the projection by NDMA’s NEOC about the ongoing monsoon season and strategies streamlined for proactive coping response to the impacts of any potential monsoon-related emergencies.
PM’s Climate aide Ms. Romina Khurshid Alam also apprised Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal about shifting monsoon rainfall patterns in Pakistan because of climate change.
