The death toll in Pakistan crossed 800 on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, due to the ongoing flood disaster that started in the last week of June this year, according to the latest figures from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The data indicates that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has been the hardest hit in terms of human loss, damaged houses, and roads.
As per NDMA statistics, nationwide cumulative casualties due to floods stood at 802, while 1,088 people were injured between June 26, 2025, and August 26, 2025.
Region-wise, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has remained the most affected, with the latest tally reaching 479 deaths. Sindh has reported 57 deaths, while Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir have reported 24, 45, and 24 deaths, respectively. The Islamabad Capital Territory has recorded 8 fatalities.
The fatalities comprise 480 males, 119 females, and 203 children.
According to the latest NDMA data from June 26, 2025, to August 26, 2025, a total of 7,465 houses have been damaged, either fully or partially, throughout Pakistan. Out of the total fully and partially damaged houses, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa accounts for 4,243, Azad Jammu and Kashmir for 1,642, Gilgit-Baltistan for 1,029, Punjab for 220, Balochistan for 175, Sindh for 91, and the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) for 65.
Furthermore, out of 658 kilometers of damaged roads, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa accounts for 431 kilometers, Azad Jammu and Kashmir for 201 kilometers, and Balochistan for 20 kilometers.
