PM Sharif Unveils Development Package for KP, Including Solar Energy Boost

ISLAMABAD, Jul 25 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced plans to promote solar energy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in the merged districts, as part of the government’s efforts to develop the region.

During a meeting with lawmakers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the PM House, the prime minister emphasized the need to stop electricity theft and promote solar energy to provide relief to the poor and middle class.

The government is converting agricultural tubewells to solar energy across the country, which is expected to boost the agriculture sector, increase cultivation land, and save billions of dollars in imported fuel costs. This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to promote renewable energy sources and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

Assuring the provision of standard health and education facilities in the merged districts, the prime minister said the government would establish Danish Schools in the area to provide international standard quality education to the local students.

The prime minister also announced the formation of a committee, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, to find sustainable solutions to the problems faced by the elected representatives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
