
Lahore, July 14: The Punjab government announced the date for the free distribution of Solar Panels across the province.
The provincial government will start distributing free solar panels across the province from Independence Day, August 14. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced.
Households consuming up to 200 units of electricity per month in Punjab will receive free solar panels.
Furthermore, the citizens using more than 200 and up to 500 units will be able to get solar panels by paying 10 per cent of the cost while 90 per cent of the cost will be paid by the government.
CM Punjab said payment will be interest-free over five years.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that the provision of solar panels will reduce electricity bills by 40 per cent for the public.
“The government aims to mitigate the effects of past destruction and ensure that the public does not face such issues in the future”, she added.
