Punjab to Launch Climate Change Action Plan and Policy

LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to formulate a Climate Change Action Plan and Punjab Climate Change Policy to control pollution, Radio Pakistan reported.

Chairing a meeting in Lahore today, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said the plan and policy will define the roles of stakeholders related to the environment.

Aurangzeb also revealed that development projects worth Rs. 100 billion related to environmental improvement are being executed in the province.

She said the Climate Change Action Plan and Policy will be a step towards addressing environmental challenges and setting a precedent for other provinces. The move is expected to have an impact on the environment and contribute to development in the region.
