Youth Climate Conference Comes to Karachi on August 15

KARACHI: The final event flow for the Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) Pakistan is set to take place in Sindh’s provincial capital, Karachi. On August 15th, 2024, the University of Karachi will host the event, which promises to be a day of insightful discussions, panels, and activities centered on climate action and sustainability.

According to the official announcement, the organizers invite all to join them in their mission to inspire, educate, and empower Pakistan’s youth to take climate action and create a sustainable future for all.

As an initiative under YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), LCOY Pakistan aims to empower the youth of Pakistan, providing a platform for them to raise their voices, contribute to policy-making, and drive climate action.

The conference will focus on empowering youth by offering a platform for individuals to share their concerns, ideas, and perspectives on climate change. Additionally, it will emphasize capacity building through workshops, seminars, and sessions, equipping participants with the necessary knowledge and skills. The event will also facilitate engagement in policy-making, training individuals to engage with policymakers, contribute to discussions, and drive policy decisions.
